Obituary of Stanley Joel Laughlin

Mr. Stanley Joel Laughlin age, 83 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on June 29, 2019 at his home. Funeral services for Mr. Laughlin will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Karnes and Son Funeral Home in Dyer with Bro. John Coleman and Bro. Phil Glisson officiating.  Burial will be in the Poplar Grove Cemetery in Dyer, Tennessee.

Pallbearers are Jimmy Garrett, Mark Stanley, Pat Garrett, Eston Hurst, Joel Reynolds, Mike Garner, Thomas O'Daniel, and Melvin Pipkin.

Mr. Laughlin was born in Colt, Arkansas on May 2, 1936 to Henry D. and Myrtle M. Howard Laughlin. He retired with 59 years of service as a butcher, and owned Valu Plus in Trezevant.  Mr. Laughlin was a member of the New Bethlehem Baptist Church.  He served in the Army, and the Army National Guard; and enjoyed spending time working  his Koi Pond.

Mr. Laughlin was a loving husband, father, and brother.  He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Brenda Barron Laughlin; one daughter, Beverly Laughlin Daniels (Edd); and one brother, Carl Wayne Laughlin (Kathy).  He was preceded in death by his son, Danny Lynn Laughlin; and his parents, Myrtle and H.D. Laughlin. 

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 1, 2019 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm in the Chapel of Karnes and Son Funeral Home in Dyer.  Karnes and Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Stanley Joel Laughlin.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made to either St. Jude, or New Bethlehem Missionarys.
