Kenneth Dail McCaig of Dyer passed away on July 9,2022 at the Humboldt Veteran’s Home.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War from 1966 - 1968, serving in the U.S. Army. He also served with the National Guard for many years.
Services for Mr. McCaig will be Monday, July 11th with Bro. Craig Peevyhouse officiating with burial in the Mt. Olive Cemetery, Dyer Tennessee.
Born in Gibson County in 1947, the first son of Albert and Lennie McCaig. He graduated from Spring Hill High School and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Union University.
His career includes several years of auto body repair as well as teaching auto body repair at Gibson County High School. He also coached for many years the boy’s Babe Ruth baseball and the Gibson County girls softball.
He enjoyed many hobbies including sailing and Go Kart racing.
He was a charter member of Keely Mill Baptist Church, being a Baptist by faith.
His loving family includes his wife of 53 years Thelma Jane (Powell) McCaig. His daughter Jennifer Cox, (Donnie) and his son Robin McCaig (Candace). Also his grandchildren Kathryn Hunt (Jake), Cameron Cox, Lily McCaig and Violet McCaig.
Also great Grandchildren Victoria Hunt and Charlotte Hunt.
Other family members include his brothers Royce McCaig (Shelia), Darrell McCaig (Patsy), Ricky McCaig (Lisa), Linus McCaig, Monte McCaig, Devin McCaig, Bruce McCaig, and one sister Renee Baker (Eddie), and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be at Karnes and Son Funeral Home in Dyer, Tennessee on July 11, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery.
Family Viewing from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00, the public viewing from 12:00 until services time.
