Virgil Wayne Roberts

Mr. Virgil Wayne Roberts, age 97 of Kenton, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Trenton Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services for Mr. Roberts will be conducted on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at 3PM in the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Ken Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery, in Kenton. 

He was born November 27, 1927, in Gibson County, TN; the son of the late Charles & Lola Bradberry Roberts. Mr. Roberts owned and operated Virgil Roberts Grocery and worked at Goodyear before his retirement. He was a member of Lowrance Chapel Church of Christ and served his country with the US Airforce. 

Mr. Roberts is survived by his loving wife of 76 years, Jolene Roberts; two sons, Ken (Barbara) Roberts, Tim Roberts; four grandchildren, Matt (Amber) Roberts, Carrie (Matthew) Davis, Kristin (Bradley) Skinner, Paige (Chad Cooper) Roberts; and four great-grandchildren, Rhett, Falyn, Goldie, and Rance. He was preceded in death by brothers, Jerry Roberts, Charles Edgar Roberts; and two half-brothers, Guy Trimm, and Norman Trimm.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the Memphis School of Preaching. 

The family will receive friends from 1PM – 3PM on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Virgil Wayne Roberts.
