Thomas Wayne Smith

Thomas Wayne “Tommy” Smith, age 75 of Rutherford, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at home. Funeral services for Mr. Smith will be conducted on Friday, September 9, 2022, at 1:00pm in the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home with Bro. John Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford Cemetery.

He was born February 15, 1947; the son of the late George Thomas & Lounell King Smith. He was self-employed as an auto mechanic for many years. Tommy loved the Lord, and his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Carolyn Smith; two children, Brent Smith (Valli) of Rutherford, Jennifer Griffin (Keith) of Trenton; three grandchildren, Bryce Griffin, Kinley Smith, Weston Smith; siblings, Phyllis Davidson, Norma Porch, Michael Smith, and Jeff Smith.

Pallbearers are Anthony Smith, Kevin Becton, Bryan Cathey, Gary Laster, Tyler Laster, and Madison Laster.

The family will receive friends from 11:00am – 1:00pm on Friday, September 9, 2022, at the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Thomas Wayne “Tommy” Smith.
