Thelma Schoolfield

Mrs. Thelma Mae Lunsford Schoolfield, age 80 of Kenton, Tennessee, passed away from this life on August 20, 2015, at home. Funeral services for Schoolfield will be conducted on Monday, August 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the New Salem Baptist Church with Daryl Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in New Salem Cemetery, Mason Hall. She was born January 17, 1935 in Bristol Tennessee; the daughter of the late Earl and Hazel Hobbs Lunsford. She was a retired Doctor’s Assistant, and a member of the New Salem Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband James Schoolfield of 59 years, two daughters Delane Trunk, Sheri Widman, one son James E. Schoolfield, eight grandchildren Jason Schoolfield, Ervin Schoolfield, Shannon Sweeney, Matthew Schoolfield, Candy Tryggestad, James Widman, Katelyn Ishmael, Hollie Widman, and twelve great grandchildren, two sisters, Earlene Smith, Sue Oldham. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, two brothers, Leroy Lunsford, Phil Lunsford, and two sisters, Barbara Leggett, Brenda Walant. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at the New Salem Baptist Church.
