Thedis Abernathy

Mrs. Thedis Louise Abernathy, age 84 of Rutherford, formerly of Clarksville, Tennessee passed away from this life on Saturday, September 5, 2015, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 6, 2015 from 5-8pm in the chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home of Rutherford. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, September 7, 2015, with visitation from 11am until service time at 12:30 pm at the Antioch United Methodist Church in Clarksville, Tennessee with Bro. Jason Bogardus officiating. Interment will follow in the Antioch United Methodist Church Cemetery in Clarksville. She was born July 20, 1931, in Dover, Tennessee; the daughter of the late Landis and Emma McGee. She was a retired cable repair dispatcher with South Central Bell Telephone Company and a member of the Antioch United Methodist Church in Clarksville, Tennessee. Mrs. Abernathy is survived by a daughter, Beverly Dunn; two sons, Steve Abernathy and Charles Abernathy; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, J.P. McGee and Edward McGee; and one sister, Mildred Shoultz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Brandon Abernathy; one sister, Margaret Watson, and her parents. The family will receive friends from 5-8pm on Sunday, September 6, 2015 in the Chapel of Karnes and Son Funeral Home in Rutherford.
