Scott Robert Deaver, age 74 of Newbern, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at home. Funeral services for Mr. Deaver will be conducted on Friday, February 24, 2023, at 2PM in the chapel of Dyer First Baptist Church with Bro. Lane Self officiating. Interment will follow in Mayfield Cemetery.
He was born October 4, 1948, in Warwick, New York; the son of the late Dewayne & Dorothy (Duffy) Deaver. He retired from the Gibson County Sheriff’s Department as a Lieutenant, was a member of the FOP in Trenton, and received his Sublime Degree of Master Mason at the Yorkville Lodge#115. He was of the Catholic faith and served his country with the US Army.
Scott is survived by his loving wife, Belinda (Crafton) Deaver; children, Amy Berry (Rick), Christie Reed (Jeremiah), Brandon Pruett (Tays); and eight grandchildren, Adam Pugh, Hannah Garcia, Garrett Launer, Siler Reed, Stephanie Pruett, Kennedy Pruett, Brayden Pruett, and Kayliah Pruett. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers are Brad Lindsey, Knott Bailey, David Paschall, Brad Oliver, Phillip Clark, Joe Westmoreland, Cody Childress, George Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Clay Anderson, Rodney Wilkens, and Terrell Johnson.
The family will receive friends from 5PM – 8PM on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home, and Friday, February 24, 2023, 10AM – 2PM, at the chapel of Dyer First Baptist Church. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Scott Robert Deaver.
