Royce Gale McCaig

Royce Gale McCaig (Pop), age 75, passed away from this life surrounded by his family at home on October 11, 2024. Royce was born March 24, 1949, in Henry County, Tennessee to Lennie (Inman) and Albert McCaig. Funeral services for Mr. McCaig will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Karnes and Son Funeral Home in Dyer, Tennessee. Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. and go until service time at 3:00 p.m.  Interment will be in the Walnut Grove Cemetery on Highway 104 in Trenton, Tennessee.

A proud veteran, he served his country in the United States Army. His life occupation was that of a mechanic working on automotive, industrial, agriculture and lawn equipment. If it was broken, he could fix it. His favorite hobbies were the outdoors, hunting, fishing and tinkering on just about anything, but his greatest love was spending time with his family.

On January 22, 1972, he married the love of his life Shelia (Carlton) McCaig, and they were blessed with two children Michael and Jessica.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories, wife, Shelia (Carlton)McCaig; son, Michael (Rachel) McCaig; daughter, Jessica (Jonathan) Flowers; four grandchildren, Mercedes (Colton) Hicks, Lauren Kilzer, Ambere (Dalton) Borgens, and Tyler McCaig; four great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Charlie Mae, Hazel and Cole; brothers, Darrell (Patsy) McCaig, Rickie (Lisa) McCaig, Vaughn McCaig, Devin McCaig, Bruce McCaig; sister, Renee Baker; sister in Law Thelma McCaig; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Royce was preceded in death by his parents Lennie (Inman) and Albert McCaig; and brothers, Kenneth McCaig, and Monte McCaig.
