Ronald Cary West

Ronald "Ronnie" C. West, known affectionately as Ronnie, departed this life on June 3, 2024, surrounded by his loving family in his home, in Dyer, TN. He was born in Medina, TN, on August 26, 1947, to the late W.A. West and Jessie Lee Barnes West. Ronnie's life was one that touched many hearts and souls.

Throughout his life, Ronnie was not only hardworking, but also an individual who found joy in simple pleasures. He graduated from Dyer High School and further pursued his studies at the University of TN at Martin, showcasing his commitment to education and self-improvement. He was known for his dedication as a Pipeline Operator for Texas Gas Transmission Company, where he worked for 38 years. Outside of work, he was a devoted Deacon and Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church in Dyer.

Beyond his career and education, Ronnie was known for his vibrant personality - described by those who knew him as fun and loving. His presence would light up any room, bringing smiles to those around him. His hobbies reflected his love for the outdoors. Ronnie was an avid sportsman, who found solace in fishing for bass and crappie, as well as hunting for deer and turkey.

However, one of Ronnie's proudest accomplishments was his family. He cherished his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren deeply. They were the source of his greatest joy and pride.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Nancy Carter West; adoring children, Brent West (Jennifer), and Rhonda West Branson (Wyman); beloved brother, James Lee West (Janet); sweet grandchildren, Corbin Branson (Carli),, Caleb Branson,, Weston Branson, and Olivia Davis:; and beautiful great-grandchildren,, Cooper Branson,, Sadie Branson, and Karmen Branson.

Services to honor and celebrate Ronnie's life will be held at Karnes and Sons Funeral Home in Dyer at 3:00 p.m. on June 7, 2024. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service. The burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. May we gather together to pay our respects to a man whose legacy will endure through the memories we hold dear.

Pallbearers to serve: Caleb Branson, Corbin Branson, Weston Branson, Wyman Branson, Johnny McCurdy, and Kenneth Carter.

As we mourn the loss of this remarkable man, let us remember Ronnie for the kindness he shared with everyone he met, for the wisdom he imparted through his teachings, and for the love that he poured into all aspects of his life. Though he may no longer walk among us, the memory of Ronnie West will forever remain etched in our hearts.
