Roger Alan Harper Sr.

Mr. Roger Alan Harper Sr., age 71 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. A Memorial service for Mr. Harper will be conducted August 17, 2024, at the Trezevant Masonic Lodge. Cremation services are under the care of Karnes & Son Funeral Home, as those services were of his choosing, and honored. 

He was born April 16, 1953, in Chicago, Illinois; the son of the late Elmer Lee & Marilyn Sue (Colburn) Harper. Roger was a forklift driver at Foam Ex in Milan, and of the Presbyterian faith. Roger loved to fish, spend time with family & friends; volunteered at Christian Endeavor in Dyer, and loved to go eat with the ‘55 & above’ group. He was an avid animal lover, enjoyed “anything” Elvis, and loved being Santa every year. Roger served as a Masonic Mason, and Order of the Eastern Star. 

Mr. Harper is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann Harper; five children, Amanda Michelle Harper, Roger Alan Harper Jr. (Lisa), Christina Wallace Cowan (Jeff), Anthony Roberts, Brandy Roberts; siblings, Audrey Harper Lowe, Timothy Harper (Pam), Melissa ‘Lisa’ Harper Dooley (Glen); best friend, Bruce Monroe; and six grandchildren, Dylan Harper, Connor Harper, Jayden Cowan, Dakota Cowan, Cameron Roberts, and Dalton AJ Roberts. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 33 years, Betty Wallace Harper.
