Robert Etheridge

Mr. Robert Paul Etheridge, age 82, of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on April 25, 2012, at his home. Funeral services for Mr. Etheridge will be conducted on Saturday, April 28, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home of Dyer with Bro. Walter Lockhart officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery of Dyer. Mr. Etheridge was born December 18, 1929; the son of the late Thomas Milton and Mae Shelton Etheridge. He had a 30 year career as a Tennessee State Trooper, served from 1982-1986 as the Gibson County Sheriff and also served as Chief of Police in Dyer. He served his country with the US Army. Mr. Etheridge was also a Mason. He is survived by his granddaughter, Ashley Farris Johnson and spouse, Brenn, one sister, Virginia Dabbs and two brothers, Thomas and Harold “Red” Etheridge. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, April 27.
