Permelia Thompson

Mrs. Permelia Margaret " Ms. Permie" Thompson age 100 of Dyer, Tennessee passed away on August 30, 2019, at the Dyer Nusrsing Home. Funeral services for Mrs. Thompson will be held on Monday, September 2, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Karnes and Son Funeral Home in Dyer, with Bro. Charles Fike officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.

Mrs.Permelia Margaret Thompson was born June 17, 1919 to Robert and Octavine (King) Boyd. Mrs. Thompson was the oldest member of the Mt.Olive Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Thompson was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother; along with being a retired employee of the Dyer Garment Factory; and dedicated her life to loving her family and friends. 

Mrs. Thompson is survived by her daughter, Margaret Taylor and husband Ronnie; one son, Phillip Thompson; one sister, Edna Buchanan; four grandsons, Mike Thompson, Mark Thompson, Eric Taylor, Ronnie William Taylor Jr.; seven great grandchildren, Matt Thompson, Kate Yarbro, Brittni Wells, A.J. Metzger, Briana Taylor, Patrick Taylor, Chace Horner; and six great- great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Macy "J.M." Thompson; parents; one grandson, David Taylor; great grandson William Blake Taylor; and her daughter-in-law, Janet Thompson.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 2, 2019 from 12:00 pm until service time at 2:00 pm  in the Chapel of Karnes and Son Funeral Home in Dyer.
