Mr. Norman Glynn Reynolds, age 83, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, December 12th, after a short illness. A funeral service to honor Mr. Norman Glynn Reynolds will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at 2:00 PM at New Bethlehem Baptist Church, with Bro. John Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Grove Cemetery in Dyer.
He was born in Greenfield, TN, and was the son of Ruby Connell Reynolds and William Reynolds. He was preceded in death by brothers Junior Reynolds, Gerald Reynolds; sisters Katie Vandavire, Myra Pennington, and Joyce Hall. He leaves sisters Mathie Walker, Virginia West (Frank), Margaret Reynolds, Pam Harper (Junior), Helen Sholtz, and brothers David (Wanda) Reynolds and Charles Reynolds.
He also leaves his wife of 38 years, Retta Reynolds, one son, Allen (Leighann) Reynolds, daughter Debbie (Bryan) Richardson, step-daughters Jenny (Greg) Hahn, Jill (Greg) Caldwell, Julia (David) Wagner; one step-son Jamie (Kelly) Crockett; grandchildren Nathaniel Reynolds, Leighton Reynolds, Seth Ray, Maelyn (Blake) Estes, Mitchell (Lindsey) Hahn, Bradley (Marie) Hahn, Grace Crockett, Alyssa (Hunter) Throneberry, Mariyka Arogyaswamy, Lydia Arogyaswamy, Asya Arogyaswamy, Stacy (Michael) McGrath, Matthew Kelley, and Emily Kelley; great-grandchildren, Stella, Livie, Grae, Myer, Effie, Mason, McCoy, Avery, Abby, Aurora, Henry, Phoebe, Cooper and Gentry; and step-grandchildren Daisy (Clayton) Warren and Aubrey Richardson; step-great-grandchildren Sutton and Stevie.
Glynn was a member of New Bethlehem Baptist Church for over 60 years. He became involved in missions in the early 80’s with his first trip being to Upper Volta, West Africa, and his last trip being to Honduras on August 25th of this year. The countries in which he has served the lord are too numerous to mention. Serving the Lord was the joy of his life.
The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday, December 14, from 5-8 P and will resume on Sunday, December 15 from 10am until service time.
