Complete arrangements are being announced for Norene (Wheatley) Boyett of Kenton, TN, 90, who peacefully passed away at her home on December 9, 2015.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Karnes & Son Funeral Home in Kenton, with the Rev. Tony Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunny Side Cemetery. The family will receive friends 11 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Alex Mann, Ken Roberts, Stacey Wheatley, Gary Houston, Ronnie Perciful, Danny Dedmon, and Dennis Rowlett.
Mrs. Boyett was born on December 30, 1924 in Ridgely, TN to Benjamin Terrell Wheatley and Myrtle (Bass) Wheatley. She married Walter Quinton Boyett on August 5, 1945.
She was a member of Union City Cumberland Presbyterian Church, as well as many years of generous patronage as a member of Kenton Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She served the children’s ministry and taught Sunday School for many years with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Boyett spent her life of service to her family, community, and church. She was a diligent, loving homemaker and volunteered to those in the Kenton community.
She is survived by her husband, Walter Quinton Boyett, of Kenton. Other survivors are: her son and daughter, Gary Quinn Boyett and daughter-in-law, Molly (Tucker) Boyett and Betty (Boyett) Trout and son-in-law Bruce Trout, all of Kenton; her grandchildren Corri Boyett of Jackson, TN; Chris and Amanda (Boyett) Norman of Yorkville, TN; and Duncan Trout of Knoxville, TN. She also is survived by her three great-grandchildren, Alex Mann, Christopher Collin Norman, and Brody Quinn Norman, all of Yorkville.
She was preceded in death by her siblings: Herman Wheatley, Joe Wheatley, and Frank Brown Wheatley, all of Kenton; Benjamin Terrell Wheatley II; Bernice Lucille Wheatley Davis of Manville, TX; Velma Jean Wheatley Dedmon of Dyer, TN; and Mary Louise Wheatley Rowlett of Kenton.
