Mavis Jean McFarland

Mrs. Mavis Jean McFarland, age 93 of Jackson, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services for Mrs. McFarland will be conducted on Monday, September 9, 2024, at 2PM in the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Rutherford Cemetery. 

Mrs. McFarland was born March 20, 1931, in Crockett County, TN; the daughter of the late Roy & Wilma Woodside Lowery. She retired as a department supervisor from Kellwood and attended Old Bethlehem Baptist Church. 

Mrs. McFarland is survived by three children, Tim McFarland, Regina West, Ricky McFarland; three grandchildren, Casey (Julia) West, Brandy Dunway, Nakia McFarland; and great-grandson, Braxton West. Mavis was preceded in death by her husband, Richard McFarland; and three brothers, Robert Lowery, Durand Lowery, and Wade Lowery. 

The family will receive friends from 12PM – 2PM on Monday, September 9, 2024, at the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Mavis Jean McFarland.
