Mary Spence

Our beloved mother, Sue Spence, passed away from this life on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at home. Funeral services for Mrs. Spence will be conducted on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 2:00pm in the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Jason Bogardus officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford Cemetery, in Rutherford. She was born April 24, 1927 in Kenton, Tennessee; the daughter of the late Buck Wilson and Marie Floyd. She was a factory worker at Kellwood Clothing Mfg., before retiring, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Rutherford. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sister, Lucille Thompson (Wallace); her son, Johnny Spence (Ann); her daughter, Betty Jones; grandchildren, Paige Jones-Reed, David Jones III (Stephanie), John Spence (Michelle), Melanie Clay (Mike), Jane Roberts (Charles), and Tim Landrum (Jennifer); great grandchildren, David B. Jones IV, Dixie Reed, Delta Reed, Taylor Maitland, Wil Spence, Savanah Spence, Dylan Landrum, Allen Landrum, Ania Landrum and Alise Landrum; and great-great granddaughter, Brooklynn Blake Black. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Spence; daughter, Alice Marie Wyrick; grandson, Keith Landrum; great grandson, Greyson Maitland; and her parents, Buck Wilson and Marie Floyd. The family will receive friends from 12:00pm-2:00pm on Friday, June 23, 2017 in the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home.
