Mary Smith

Mrs. Mary E. Smith (Willis), age 81 of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA. formerly of Kenton, Tennessee, passed away from this life on August 3, 2017, with her loving family around her. Graveside services for Mrs. Smith (Willis) will be conducted on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Rutherford Cemetery, with Rev. Drew Gay officiating. Mrs. Smith (Willis) was born November 10, 1935 in Kenton, Tennessee; the daughter of the late Lonnie McKinley and Louise West Smith. Mrs. Smith (Willis) was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Daughter, and Aunt. Mrs. Smith (Willis) was a manager for H & R Block Company with over 30 years of service, and who was loved and respected by her peers. Mrs. Smith (Willis) is survived by three daughters, Mona Marie Carlisle, Sandy Shelton Kirk, and Kay Rixie McGhee (Jimmy); six grandchildren, Chad Lynn Coley, Lindsay Marie Dickert, Lacey S. Furr, Jacob Lee (York) Chapman, John Caleb Chapman, Mary Kaylah McGhee; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Joan Emrich (Bill), Jean Smith; and nieces and nephews. Mrs. Smith (Willis) was preceded in death by parents, Lonnie and Louise Smith; and one brother, David McKinley Smith. Pallbearers assisting with Mrs. Smith (Willis) service are Jacob (York) Chapman, Caleb Chapman, Jon Dickert, Lennie Furr, Lynn Ogden, Jimmy McGhee.
