Mary Jane Smith

Mrs. Mary Jane Smith, age 79 of Rutherford, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at West Tennessee Healthcare Volunteer Hospital in Martin. Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be conducted on Friday, November 5, 2021, at 2:00pm in the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Crews, Rev. Marlon Stephens, and Rev. Andy Mayfield officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford Cemetery.

She was born December 24, 1941, in Mason Hall, TN, down by the Tyson Store Community; the daughter of the late Granville Doog Ledsinger and Mary Belle Hollomon Ledsinger (Hollis). She was a surgical RN at Gibson General Hospital for over 40 years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Rutherford.

She is survived by her loving husband, Nathan Smith of Rutherford; son, Jeff Smith of Rutherford; two daughters, Jill Smith Koback of Murfreesboro, Jerianne Smith Poe (Travis) of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Samantha Koback, Asher Poe and Ansley Poe, all of Murfreesboro; and brothers, Jere Ledsinger of Tullahoma, and Joe Ledsinger of Snellville, Georgia.

Pallbearers are Bill Wade, George Wade, Ben Murray, Karl Ledsinger, Kevin Turner, and Marc Lee.

Visitation with the family will be from 5:00pm – 8:00pm on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Mary Jane Smith.
