Mary Helen Scarborough, age 81 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Thursday, October 24, 2019, at home. Funeral services for Mary Helen Scarborough will be conducted on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Dyer chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Criswell officiating. Interment will follow in Good Hope Cemetery.
She was born September 24, 1938 in Hornbeak, TN; daughter of the late Charlie Davidson and the late Veola (Powell) Davidson. She was a retired manufacturing operator at Kellwood; and member of Midway Baptist Church. Mrs. Mary Helen enjoyed country music and dancing. Most of all, she loved family reunions, being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved and cared for others, having many great friendships along her life.
She is survived by daughter, Helen Ruth "Sissy" Tharpe; three grandchildren, Jamie Tharpe, Dawn Smith, John Allen Hendricks; seven great grandchildren, Sam Smith, Shelby Smith, Sidney Smith, Collen Hendricks, Abbi Tharpe, Evan Canada, Celeste Canada; and extended family and caregivers, Reba Scarborough Woods, Diane Scarborough Miller, and Marilyn Scarborough Clifton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jamie Baird Scarborough; daughter, Emily Sue Hendricks; three brothers; and two sisters.
Pallbearers are Jamie Tharpe, John Allen Hendricks, Adam Smith, Benny Scarborough, Warren Scarborough, Bubba Davis, and Evan Canada.
Visitation with the family of Mary Helen Scarborough will be Sunday, October 27, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Karnes & Son Funeral Home - Dyer chapel. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mary Helen Scarborough.
