Martha Richerson

Mrs. Martha Lorene Richerson, age 85, of Rutherford, Tennessee, passed away from this life on December 16, 2012, at Regency Retirement Village under the care of Avalon Hospice in Jackson. Funeral services for Mrs. Richerson will be conducted on Sunday, December 23, at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home of Rutherford. Interment will follow in Rutherford Cemetery of Rutherford. Mrs. Richerson was born December 20, 1926, in Bolivar, Tennessee; the daughter of the late Thomas and Knoxie Robley. She retired from work as the church secretary for First Baptist Church of Rutherford. Mrs. Richerson is survived by her children; Thomas Richerson and spouse Janice, Paul Richerson and spouse Cindy, James Richerson and spouse Debbie; six grandchildren, seven great- grandchildren; and sister Jeanette Lax. She was preceded in death by her spouse, John H. Richerson, her sister, Margie Wood and her parents. The family will receive friends from 6-8 on Saturday, December 22.
