Margaret Fossey

Margaret Fossey, age 89, passed away August 26th, 2017 in Jackson, TN. She is survived by her four children, Joan Williams (Blake), of Jackson, TN, Carolyn Copeland (Tommy) of Williston, TN, Dewey Green, of Hopkinsville, KY, and Mona Higginbotham (Randy), of Jackson, TN; her grandchildren, Russ Chessor (Christy), Cristin Scarborough, Matthew Williams (Ginger) Christopher Davis (April), Lane Albores (Mark), and Laura Byrd (Bryan); and her great grandchildren, Zachary and Matthew Chessor, Blake and Ethan Williams, Lily and Anna Leigh Byrd, Amelie and Reegan Albores. She is preceded in death by her longtime friend and companion, Charles Ray Johnson, of Kenton, TN; her parents, Irby and Hazel Walters, of Kenton, TN; and her grandson, Tony Chessor, of San Francisco, CA. Margaret led a full and blessed life. She retired from the Daily Messenger in Union City, TN, was a dedicated member of New Concord Baptist Church, a skilled painter, loved her dog Rascal, and she loved to play cards with her senior citizens club. Her children will cherish memories of many family get togethers in her home full of good food and fellowship. She will be greatly missed by many family and friends, especially her lifelong friend Regina Ellison. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, August 27th, from 6:00-8:00 pm in the chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home in Kenton, TN. A visitation will also be held at New Concord Baptist Church in Kenton, TN on Monday, August 28 from 11:00 am- 12:00 pm. Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 pm at New Concord Baptist Church. Johnny Witherspoon will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to New Concord Baptist Church.
