Louise Spain

Graveside services will be held for Louise Edmundson Spain, 95, at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Rutherford Cemetery. Mrs. Spain passed away January 10, 2017 at the Henderson Health and Rehabilitation Center in Henderson TN where she had resided for the past three and a half years. Mrs. Spain was born in Cookeville, and raised in the China Grove Community, the daughter of Loyd and Virgie Dowland Edmundson. She attended China Grove School and was in the 1939 graduating class of Rutherford High School. She married Lee Spain in 1946. They made their home in Chicago for more than 30 years. He died in 1977. After retiring Mrs. Spain resided alternately in TN and IL. Survivors include two sons, Ronnie and Harold Spain, both of Enville TN; one daughter, Barbara Spain (Dan Kirchhoff) of Downers Grove IL; eight grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Spain was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Mary Frances Dodd in 1967 and Blondene Tosh in 1997.
