On July 2, 2021, Judith “Judy” Raines Garrett was called home to be with our Lord and Savior after a long battle with Alzheimer’s/Dementia. She was 74 years old.
Born and raised in Dyer, Tennessee, to Elroy and Ethel “Sally” (Northam) Raines of Dyer, she had one sibling Sally “Rudy” Young. She married the love of her life, Joe R. Garrett in 1964 and had two children.
It would be wrong to say that she lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick, she was always determined. Not even Covid could keep her down.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Joe R. Garrett; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Raines; her sister, Sally Rudean Young, and her in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Farris Garrett.
She is survived by her two daughters, Candy (husband Bruce) and Lori; and her four grandchildren, Josh (wife Emely), Jacob, Faith, and Grace; two great-grandchildren, Mason and Malina; along with a host of other family and friends.
Judy loved her family and never failed to let them know how much.
