Joyce Alexander

Joyce Stanley Alexander, 94 years old, of Charlotte, North Carolina, died November 12, 2019. She was born in Charlotte, NC on March 18, 1925 to the late Edwin and Grace Wilhelm Stanley. She graduated from Harding High School and retired from Bank of America as an administrative assistant. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Gray Alexander; son, Stan Gray Alexander and sister, Nell Stanley.

She is survived by a daughter, Sybil Mitchell (John) of Ocean View, DE; son, Scott Alexander of Charlotte, NC; and daughter-in-law Linda Alexander Hulett of Mooresville, NC. Grandchildren are Shelly Corcoran of Huntingtown, MD; Wendy Parker of Denver, NC; Jay Mitchell of La Plata, MD; Justin Alexander of Mooresville, NC; Leslie Curtis of Denver, NC; Allison Raborn of Fuquay-Varina, NC and Carson Alexander of Charlotte, NC. Great-grandchildren are Emily and Hayley Corcoran; Alex, Madison, Boone, Cade and Lana Parker; Noah and Claire Mitchell; Pierce, Leila and Ansley Curtis; Sutton Alexander.

Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to The Salvation Army.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, November 22 at James Funeral Home with memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM.
