Joy Laverne Johnson

Mrs. Joy Laverne Johnson, age 82 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Dyer Nursing Home. Funeral services for Mrs. Johnson will be conducted on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at 2:00pm in the Dyer chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Mutter officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

She was born February 18, 1939, in Dyer, TN; the daughter of the late Marvin & Willie Hearn Dickey. She retired, after 30+ years, working as an office clerk at Kellwood, and was a member of the First Methodist Church in Dyer.

She is survived by two children, Natalie Thompson (Michael), Jeff Johnson (Kim); siblings, Sammy Dickey, Charlotte Morris; three grandchildren, Michael Thompson, Katie Yarbro, Ashlee Starkey; and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Billy W. Johnson.

Pallbearers are Michael Thompson, Justin Yarbro, Chris Starkey, Chris Gore, Stephan Gore, and Bryan White.

The family will receive friends from 5:00pm – 8:00pm on Monday, October 25, 2021, at the Dyer chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Joy Laverne Johnson.
