MARTIN, Johnny Moore, 64, of Dyer, Tennessee passed away on August 25, 2017 with his family by his side at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born on March 8, 1953 in Union City, Tennessee to Jack Moore and Julia Ethelene (Fagan) Martin. He was a 1975 graduate of the College of Agriculture at the University of Tennessee, Martin with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. On August 2, 1975, he married Joslyn Kay Sisco of Kenton, Tennessee. Together, they had three daughters. Johnny was the General Manager of Dyer Grain Company in Dyer, Tennessee for 39 years before continuing his career at Robinson and Belew, Inc. in Sharon, Tennessee. He dedicated his professional career to supporting local farmers and the agriculture community in West Tennessee. Along with memberships and involvement with numerous professional organizations, Johnny was a charter member of the Tennessee Feed and Grain Association and a 24-year board member of the West Tennessee Rail Authority. Johnny had a lifelong passion for the cattle industry and specifically registered Polled Hereford Cattle. For over 30 years, Johnny and his family maintain Martin Polled Herefords, a nationally recognized operation of registered cattle that competitively exhibited on the state, regional and national level and sold seedstock and show cattle throughout the region. He actively served the West Tennessee Polled Hereford Association, the Tennessee Hereford Association and the National Hereford Association; he was an avid supporter of youth in all organizations. Aside from his professional accomplishments, Johnny’s life was centered on his family. He was adored by his wife and daughters. He loved family dinners and holidays with everyone gathered together. The birth of his first grandchild earlier this year brought he and the entire family great happiness. His legacy of hard work and unconditional love will be carried on by his family. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Kay; daughters Emily Catherine Pope (Justin), Lauren Martin White (Thomas), and Ali Caroline Maitland (Taylor); granddaughter Addison Quinn Pope; brother Jackie Eugene Martin (Gale); and loving nieces, nephews and in-laws. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Dyer Church of Christ, 889 South Main Street, Dyer, Tennessee 38330. Burial will follow at Union Grove Cemetery in Kenton, Tennessee. The family will greet friends for a visitation at Dyer Church of Christ on Monday, August 28, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Serving as Pallbearers are Marty Sisco, Tom Sisco, Clint Sisco, Shane Sisco, Jason Martin, and Zack Martin.
