John Andrew Greer

John Andrew “Jack” Greer, age 83 of Kenton, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at his home. Funeral services for Mr. Greer will be conducted on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at 4PM in the Kenton chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Brown officiating. Interment will follow in New Concord Baptist Church Cemetery.

Jack was born April 9, 1939 in Nashville, TN; the son of the late Andrew Johnson & Edna Helena (Step) Greer. He retired as a city mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, and was a member of New Concord Baptist Church. He served his country with the US Air Force from 1958 to 1974, honorably discharging as a Captain. Military honors will be observed.

Jack is survived by loving wife, Kathy (Ashley) Greer; daughter, Sheryl Houston; daughter by heart, Paige Boaz; two sisters, Mary Mee, Helen Harper; three grandchildren, John Fox, Jennifer Reeves, Jessica Hensley; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughter, Sandra Fox; and his parents.

Pallbearers serving are Jay Harper, Keith Ashley, Don Green, Ricky Butler, and Tim Laster. Honorary pallbearer is Leo Waynescott.

The family will receive friends from 2PM -4PM on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at the Kenton chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. John Andrew “Jack” Greer.
