John Blackburn

Mr. John William Blackburn, age 71, of Trenton, Tennessee, passed away from this life on November 15, 2012, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Blackburn will be conducted on Sunday, November 18, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home of Dyer with Bro. Marlon Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery of Dyer. Mr. John was born January 18, 1941, in Gibson County; the son of the late Hollis Raymond and Dovie Eulene Ward Blackburn. He worked for Brown Shoe Company and then retired from Goodyear. He served his country with the US Navy and belonged to the Griers Chapel United Methodist Church. Mr. Blackburn is survived by his spouse, Jewell Blackburn; sons, Rodney Blackburn and Craig Blackburn; and grandchildren, Jacob Blackburn, Nikki Blackburn, and Noah Blackburn. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. on Saturday, November 17. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. John William Blackburn.
