Joe Yergin

Mr. Joe Mack Yergin, age 87, of Kenton, Tennessee, passed away from this life on January 5, 2015, at his home. Funeral services for Mr. Yergin will be conducted on Friday, January 9, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at Walnut Grove Baptist Church of Kenton, Tennessee with Bro. Bob Conley, Bro. Johnny Witherspoon, and Bro. Wayne Rowan officiating. Entombment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Kenton, Tennessee. Mr. Joe Mack Yergin was born December 26, 1927, in Kenton, Tennessee; the son of the late Joe and Tommie Davis Yergin. Mr. Yergin was a landowner and farmer for many years. He served with the US Navy and was a Mason. Mr. Yergin is survived by his wife of 59 years, Reba Cooper Yergin; daughter, Patricia Rowan and husband Wayne; grandchildren, Missi Coleman, Meredith Shelton; five great-grandchildren; and siblings, Lela Howard of Memphis, Helen Renfrow of Memphis, Aaron Yergin, Billy D. Yergin, and Coy Yergin of Rutherford; also by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Glenn Yergin. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, at Karnes & Son Funeral Home of Rutherford and Friday, January 9, from 11 a.m. until service time at Walnut Grove Baptist Church.
