Joan Edith Lewellen

Joan Edith Lewellen, age 73, of Ripley, Mississippi, passed away from this life on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at North Mississippi Medical Center. Graveside services for Mrs. Lewellen will be conducted on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 2:00pm at Poplar Grove Cemetery.

She was born March 21, 1948 in Dyer County , TN; the daughter of the late Lonnie & Edith Mae Beavis Ramey of Dyer, TN. She was in the furniture industry all her life. She helped start Gentry Gallery, and she worked to keep Status Leather going strong, along with being a sewing operator at Hollywood Feed.

She is survived by her children, Jerrell “J.J.” Lewellen (Telicia), Quinton Lewellen (Liza), Monica Lewellen, Brad Lewellen (Jen); siblings, Marvin Ramey (Shirley), Jerry Ramey (Dolly); sister-in-law, Doris Ramey; grandchildren, Jordan Nelson (Ryan), Trevyn Spurgeon; Lucas, Kaleb, Trentleigh, Damien, Ava-Katelynn, Kynzleigh Lewellen; two great-grandchilren, Cohen and Piper Nelson. She was preceded in death by siblings, Christine Epperson, Evelyn Underwood, L.B. Ramey, and Bill Ramey.
