Jessie Poynor

Mrs. Jessie Laverne Poynor, age 94, of Bradford, Tennessee, passed away from this life on December 18, 2012, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services for Mrs. Poynor will be conducted on Saturday, December 22, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home of Dyer with Bro. Jerry Truett officiating. Interment will follow in Poplar Grove Cemetery of Dyer. Mrs. Poynor was born July 24, 1918 in Cades, Kentucky; the daughter of the late Joseph and Betty Hendon. She worked as a beautician for many years before retiring to be a homemaker Mrs. Jessie is survived by a sister, Ann Needham and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her spouse, Hollis Poynor, brothers, Printous Hendon and Freeman Hendon and sisters, Roberta Barron, Mable Chamberland. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, December 21. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Jessie Laverne Poynor.
