Jerry Wayne Gates, age 74 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at home. Funeral services for Mr. Gates will be conducted on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at 2PM in the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Kirkpatrick officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford Cemetery.
He was born March 16, 1949, in Dyer, TN; the son of the late Glynn L. & Ava Gates. He was a farmer.
He is survived by brother, Robert “Lighting” Gates; niece, Teresa Locke; great niece, Autumn Locke; and great nephew, Cody Carlton. He was preceded in death by sister-in-law, Linda Gates; and nephew, Dwayne Carlton.
The family will receive friends from 6PM-8PM on Monday, June 12, 2023, at the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Jerry Wayne Gates.
