James Robert Watson

James Robert Watson age 77 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away on August 8, 2024, at the Tennessee State Veterans' Home in Humboldt, with his loving family around him. Funeral services for Mr. Watson will be held on Friday, August 9,2024,4 in the chapel of Karnes and Son Funeral Home in Dyer. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm and go until service time at 3:00 pm. Bro. Nick Wilson will officiate with burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Dyer.

James Robert Watson was born July 4, 1947, to the late Jim and Mary Bell Lannom Watson. Mr. Watson was a retired Systems Analyst with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. He loved his family and was a member of the Dyer Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mr. Watson was an avid horse lover and enjoyed time on his farm. Mr. Watson served his country with the U.S. Air Force. 

Mr. Watson is survived by his daughter Stephanie Dahlstrom and husband Jeff; son, Craig Johnson and fiancé Ashley Crandall; sister Joyce Reynolds; four grandchildren, Collin Blake Dahlstrom, Taylor Ryan Johnson and wife Morgan, Raven Nicole Smith and husband Neal, Cassidy Faith Wallace and husband Tyler; and four great-grandchildren, Wrigley, Oliver, Watson, and Piper. Mr. Watson was preceded in death by his loving wife, Paula Nicholson Watson; his parents, Jim and Mary (Mama and Papa Watson); and two sisters, Katherine McEwen, and Mary Alice Van Sickle.
