James Powell

Mr. James Larry Powell, age 71 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on February 20, 2017, at Jackson Madison County General. Funeral services for Mr. Powell will be conducted on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 10:00a.m. in the chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home in Dyer with Bro. Bobby Garland officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, in Dyer. He was born November 21, 1945 in Trenton, TN; the son of the late Russ and Lelia Dane Powell. He was a General Sales Manager at City Lumber Co. He is survived by his wife, Ronda Powell; children, Jeff Powell (Johnnie), Kelly Hobson, and Jamey Powell (Cindy); grandchildren, Cody Hobson (Trista), Zack Powell, MacKenzie Castellaw (Tylor), and Alexa Powell; and great grandchildren, Dalton Lindsey, Draven Powell, and Bryson Powell. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00pm on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Karnes & Son Funeral Home in Dyer.
