James Payne

Mr. James Andrew Payne, Jr., age 68, of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on March 16, 2013, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Payne will be conducted on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home of Dyer with Bro. Marlon Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery of Dyer. Mr. Payne was born August 16, 1944, in Carroll County; the son of the late James A. and Ruby Edwards Payne, Sr. He worked for General Metals Corporation as a machinist before retirement. Mr. Payne is survived by his wife Sandra Kay Turner Payne; daughters, Angela Butcher and Lori Townsend; grandson, Joseph A. Townsend; and siblings, Dwayne Payne, Pat Payne, and Geneva Payne. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Wade Payne. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2013.
