James Murray Mingle, Jr.

James Murray Mingle, Jr. “Jimmy”, age 83 of Signal Mountain, Tennessee, passed away September 16, 2020.  Jimmy was born in Obion, TN on March 28, 1937 to the late James Murray & Willie Mae Ledbetter Mingle.

He was also preceded in death by grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Joseph Mingle of Dyer, and Mr. and Mrs. William Asbury Ledbetter of Obion, TN.  Jimmy graduated from Milan High School and attended Lambuth College and the University of Tennessee Martin.  He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Randolph.  He retired from Harris Corporation from installing telecommunication systems.

He is survived by his son, James Murray “Trey” Mingle, III of Diamond Head, MS; grandson, James Brett Mingle of Kennesaw, GA; sister, Ellen Mingle Matthews (Tom) of Signal Mountain, TN; and a special niece, Mary Ellen Matthews of Chattanooga, TN.

Graveside services for Mr. Mingle will be conducted on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 11:00 am at Oakwood Cemetery with Bro. Ray Carroll officiating. Interment will immediately follow.
