Mr. James C. Barron, age 88, of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on September 25, 2013, at his home. Funeral services for Mr. Barron will be conducted on Friday, September 27, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home of Dyer with Bro. DeWayne Goodgine officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery of Dyer.
Mr. Barron was born April 7, 1925, in Trenton, Tennessee; the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Luther and Arline King Barron. He retired from Brown Shoe Company, also owned a grocery store and car wash and drove a school bus for Gibson County School District. He served his country with the US Navy. Military honors will be observed. Mr. Barron was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dyer.
Mr. Barron is survived by three children, Beverley Scott and husband Gray, Jay Barron and wife Bridgett, Vickie Allmon and husband Terry; six grandchildren, Cody Scott, Elechia Harrison, Terrina McCaig, Eric Allmon, Tabitha Cowan, Kimberly Thompson; 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his spouse, Emagene Knox Barron and brothers, William Douglas “Diddy” Barron, Welton “Bub” Barron, and Eugene Barron.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 26. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. James C. Barron.
