Herman Louie Murdock, Jr.

Herman Louie Murdock, Jr. age 74 of Kenton, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at his home. Funeral services for Mr. Murdock will be conducted on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at 2PM in the chapel of New Salem Baptist Church with Bro. Darrell Morgan and David Ketchum officiating. Interment will follow in New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.

He was born June 29, 1948, in Altoona, Alabama; the son of the late Herman Louie & Bobbie Jean (Walker) Murdock, Sr. He retired from Goodyear as a mold & bladder operator. Herman was a Mason of Pearl Lodge 200, in Mason Hall; and attended Christian Sabbath Assembly Church in Dyersburg. He served his country with the US Navy.

He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Murdock; two children, Joseph Murdock (Mary), Lisa Ritter (Michael); two sisters, Rhonda Ashe, Elaine Fluery; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends from 12PM – 2PM on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at New Salem Baptist Church. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Herman Louie Murdock, Jr.
