Helen Mccollum

February 13th, 1928 - April 13th, 2019 Helen Sue McCollum age 91 of Newbern, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Saturday, April 13th, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City. Graveside services for Mrs. McCollum will be conducted on Wednesday, April 17th, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Rutherford Cemetery. Interment to follow immediately. She was born February 13th, 1928 in Rutherford, TN; the daughter of Raymond and Emmie Barton Yates. She was a retired bookkeeper. She is survived by two sons and their families, Duke McCollum (Becky), Ray McCollum (Marilyn); one brother, James Yates; five grandchildren, John David McCollum (Brandy), Susan McClanahan (David), Lee McCollum (Heather), Wendy McGee (Chris), Joe Parham (Teresa); eleven great grandchildren, Brittany Gatlin (Brad), Jon David McClanahan, Walker McClanahan, Brittany McClanahan, Dylan McClanahan, Taylor McCollum, Blythe McCollum, Tyler McGee (Alexis), Hunter McGee, Austin Parham, Gracie Parham; and one great great grandchild, Gabi McGee. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Herbert McCollum; parents; and one grandson, Jake Behen. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be given to Fairview Baptist Church in Newbern. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Helen Sue McCollum.
