Grady Lee Ray

Mr. Grady Lee Ray, age 92 of Kenton, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Friday, November 11, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Union City. Funeral services for Mr. Ray will be conducted on Monday, November 14, 2022, at 1:00pm in the chapel of Kenton Church of God with Bro. Dennis Cleek officiating. Interment will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery.

He was born January 12, 1930, in Kenton, TN; the son of the late Keltie & Ellen (Graves) Ray. He retired as a maintenance engineer with Kenton Custom Molding, after working at Brown Shoe Company before its closing. Grady was a member of Kenton Church of God. He served his country with the US Army.  

Mr. Ray is survived by his loving wife, Peggy (Fletcher) Ray; children, Debbie McDaniel, Kenny Ray, Kevin Ray (Jana); step-children, Lee Simpson (Rhonda), Libby Sturdivant (Reed), Wade Simpson (Joanna); fourteen grandchildren, Curt McDaniel, Brian McDaniel (Terri), Whitney Ray, Amanda Cranford, Lance Ray (Katherine), Lydia Taylor (Robert), Britain Penland, Connor Simpson, Regan Simpson, Tyler Simpson, Savannah Simpson, Lainey Toombs, Austin Simpson, Kristen Brundridge (Kyle); fourteen great grandchildren; and sister, Modine Bradley. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Mitchell Ray, Cecil Ray; sisters, Vonnie Keene, Linda Smith; son in law, Kenneth McDaniel; and daughter in law, Suzane Ray.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am – 1:00pm on Monday, November 14, 2022, at the Kenton Church of God. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Grady Lee Ray.
