Gerald Lynn Whitworth

Gerald Lynn “Cotton” Whitworth, age 86 of Kenton, Tennessee, passed away from this life on September 18, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Union City. Funeral services for Mr. Whitworth will be conducted on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at 4:00pm in the chapel of Macedonia Baptist Church with Bro. Jake Wylie and Bro. Michael Julian officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.

He was born January 12, 1936, in Rutherford, TN; the son of the late Cloys Russell & Ella Fay Eddlemon Whitworth. He was a small engine mechanic at Sanderson Hardware before his retirement, and member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He served his country with the US Army.  

He is survived by children, Trayce Wylie (Jason), Kelly Whitworth (Ginger); siblings, Margaret Lovell, Pat Garner; four grandchildren, Jake Wylie (Kendall), Nicholas Wylie (Halley), Caden Wylie, Cole Whitworth; and one great grandson, Jaxton Lee Wylie. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda Little Whitworth; parents; and siblings, Ray Whitworth, Aron Whitworth, Harold Whitworth, Johnny Whitworth, and Mildred Garner.

The family will receive friends from 2:00pm – 4:00pm on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at the Macedonia Baptist Church. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Gerald Lynn “Cotton” Whitworth.
