Gerald Powell

Mr. Gerald Ray Powell, age 87 of Trenton, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Friday, February 13, 2015, at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Powell will be conducted on Sunday, February 15, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church of Trenton with Bro. Joel Pigg and Bro. Gerald Smith. Interment will follow in Salem Baptist Church of Trenton, Tennessee. He was born February 23, 1927 in Gibson County, Tennessee; the son of the late Edgar and Sadie Powell. Mr. Powell was retired from Brown Shoe Company and a farmer. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Trenton. Mr. Powell is survived by one daughter, Diane Taylor and husband, Curtis; two sons, Ray Powell and wife Doris, Jerry Powell and wife Carol; one sister, Shirley Shankle; five grandchildren, Tammy Powell Graves and husband Bart, Terry Powell, Andy Powell and wife Star, Tonya Moore Scott and husband Bobby, and Eric Powell and wife Heather , and two step grandsons Jason Wheeler and Cody Wheeler; ten great-grandchildren, Megan Robinson Dowell and husband Kyle, Dustin Scott, Gavin Powers, Jonah Mullins, Drew Powell, Kendall Powell, Kaylee Tice, Jordan Tice, Colton Graves and Maddie Graves; and one great-great grandchild Kaleb McDowell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Kernodle Powell, a brother, Wayne Powell and his parents. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2015.
