Frances Elaine “Miss Frankie” Glisson, age 93 of Kenton, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Wednesday, September 7,2022, at Dyer Nursing Home. Memorial services for Miss Frankie will be conducted on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at 3:00pm in the chapel of Kenton First Baptist Church with Bro. Wayne Perkins, Dr. Charles Pratt, and Bro. Shawn Allred officiating.
She was born July 18, 1929, in Pittsburg, PA; the daughter of the late Forrest Early & Hallie Clifton Dietz. At the age of 15, she professed her faith at Calvary Baptist Church in Charleston, WV. She worked as an Executive Secretary to Dr. Archie Dykes and Dr. Paul Meeks at UTM for 8 years, she worked as a personnel director for 20 years with the postal service & postmaster for 12 years at the Kenton Post Office. Before her retirement, she worked at Kenton First State Bank. Miss Frankie is a member of Kenton First Baptist Church; loved her family more than anything in the world; had & has many friends. She loved red birds, flowers and going out to eat.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Kenton First Baptist Church.
She is survived by son, John Mark Hornoff; grandson, John Maxwell Hornoff (Bethany); two great grandsons, Hayden & Cameron Hornoff; three stepdaughters, Carol Strawbridge, Faith Hadley, Debbie Wood (Vernon); step grandchildren, Farrar Lindner (Richard), Abbie Patera (Brian), Shellie Wood, Adam Wood (Julie), Edward Hadley, Benson Hadley (Allison) ; twelve great grandchildren; niece, Barbara Frederick of Memphis; and dearest friend & guardian angel, Kathy Burkacki. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, retired Naval officer Robert Carroll Glisson; siblings, Betty Frederick, Bob Dietz, Woody Dietz, and Gene Dietz.
