Frances Abbott

Mrs. Frances Hardie Abbott, age 98, of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on August 24, 2013, at the Dyer Nursing Home. Funeral services for Mrs. Abbott will be conducted on Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home of Dyer with Bro. DeWayne Goodgine and Bro. Gary Doughten officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery of Dyer. Mrs. Abbott was born May 20, 1915, in Gibson County; the daughter of the late John Henry and Florence Edith James Hardie. She had worked at both Kellwood Company and the Pajama Factory before becoming a homemaker. Mrs. Frances was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dyer and a past member and Sunday school teacher for many years at Calvary Baptist Church of Rutherford. Mrs. Frances Abbott is survived by her granddaughter, Teresa Fuqua and husband Mike; her grandson, Bruce Taylor and wife Jan; great-granddaughters, Anna Page and Taylor Beth Fuqua. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wren Barton Abbott; her daughter and son-in-law, Edith and Phillip Taylor. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27.
