Evelyn Rawdon

Mrs. Evelyn Rawdon, age 86 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services for Mrs. Rawdon will be conducted on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 2PM in the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home with Dr. James Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Trenton, TN.

She was born October 15, 1936, in Trenton, TN; the daughter of the late Mallie Crossnoe & Gladys Robinson. She worked as a factory worker at Brown Shoe Company for 15 years, going on to work and retire from Kellwood. She loved quilting, canning, playing Rook, being a doorkeeper for the Hot Country Band, music and dancing, and fellowship with friends who lovingly called her as “mom”. Mrs. Rawdon was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Karen Kyle (Chris) of Martin, Melissa Marbrey (Matthew “Bubba”) of Yorkville; sisters, Joyce Ray of Trenton, Christine Reynolds (Mike) of Hohenwald; grandsons, Keith Hill (Ashley) of Medina, Nathan Kyle and  Travis Kyle of Martin; step-grandson, Zack Marbrey (Natalie) of Trenton; great-granddaughter, Madelyn Hill of Medina; step-great granddaughters, Emma Kate and Sadie Lee; three stepbrothers, Lynn Robinson (Sandy), Jerry Robinson (Linda), and Billy Robinson (Debbie); and several nephews and nieces; and fur baby "Sassy". She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jerry Rawdon; sister, Rita Hensley; brother in law, Larry Ray; and her parents.

The family will receive friends from 5PM - 8PM on Friday, March 24, 2023, at the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Evelyn Rawdon.
