Mrs. Etta Pipkin Magee Smith, age 89 formerly of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Sunday, May 5, 2013, at Humboldt Nursing Home. Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be conducted on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home in Dyer with Bro. Bobby Adams, and Bro. Tom Fortner officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Dyer, Tennessee. Mrs. Smith was born August 17, 1923 in Perry Co. Tennessee; daughter of the late Algie Pipkin and Lila Bridges Pipkin. She was a retired seamstress of the Kellwood Company and Homemaker. Mrs. Smith is survived by three children, daughter, Patsy Somers and husband Kerry, two granddaughters, Kimberly Blakeman and husband Charlie, Elizabeth (Beth) Odom and husband Kevin; great-grandchildren, Madison Blakeman, Evan Blakemen; son Royce Magee and wife Sandra, grandson Keith Magee and wife Rita, granddaughter Tammy Hurst and husband Brian, great grandchildren, Cole Magee, Aubrey Magee, Chandler Mayhard, Blake Hurst, Brock Hurst, daughter Pamela Ozment, granddaughter Megan Gateley and husband Billy, grandson Aaron Ozment two great grandchildren, Rayce Gateley, Cash Gateley, and one sister Dean Warren. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, and first husband Arnold Franklin Magee, and her late husband Virgil Smith, two sisters Delphia Williams, Ruby Choate, and five brothers, Floyd Pipkin, Billy Pipkin, Ruford Pipkin, Gilbert Pipkin, and J.W. Pipkin. The family will receive friends from 5-8 on Tuesday, May 7, 2013. In the chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home in Dyer. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Etta Pipkin Magee Smith.
