Emerson King

Mr. Emerson Thomas King, age 97 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Dyer Nursing Home. Funeral services for Mr. King will be conducted on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home in Rutherford with Bro. Marlon Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford Cemetery, in Rutherford, TN. He was born November 8, 1919 in Rutherford; the son of the late David Bailey and Lou Ozella (Garner) King. He was a receiving clerk at Kellwood, and a farmer. He is survived by two children, Margaret Valentine (Albert), and Thomas King; siblings, Dorothy Clark, Wayne King, Larry King, Billy King; three grandchildren, Janet Dowlen (Jeff), Laurie Baker (Rob), Katie McKinney (Kyle); and six great grandchildren, Ryan Dowlen, Natalie Dowlan, Lily Dowlen, Emily Baker, Ethan Baker, and Harper McKinney. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Alene Warren King. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00pm on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home in Rutherford.
