Elsie Duncan

Mrs. Elsie Ophelia Duncan, age 82 of Kenton, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Saturday, December 30, 2017, at her residence. Funeral services for Mrs. Duncan will be conducted on Monday, January 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Laneview Baptist Church in Kenton, Tennessee with Bro. Ben Lownsdale and Bro. Darryl Marcle officiating. Interment will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery. She was born October 19, 1935 in Bells, Tennessee; the daughter of the late W. R. and Winnie Mae Jernigan. She was retired from Kellwood Company, and member of Laneview Baptist Church of Kenton. Mrs. Duncan is survived by her husband of 63 years, Billy C. Duncan; three children, Tony Duncan (Twyla), Tammy Mayo (Billy), and Brandi Dodd (John); one sister, Opal Adams; eight grandchildren, Carrie Duncan, Shelby Duncan, Bryan Mayo, Amber Mayo, Lauren Smith (Nathan), Sydney Inman, Zack Dodd and Chelsey Dodd; five great-grandchildren, Keiley, Makayla, Abigail, Caleb and Anna Belle Smith; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, R. C. Jernigan, Estell Jernigan, Lloyd Jernigan, Odell Jernigan, James Jernigan, Kenneth Jernigan; and five sisters, Clister Wilson, Oda Mae Pfeffer, Hortense Barger, Flossie Lewis, and Jessie Reasons. The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Laneview Baptist Church of Kenton. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Elsie Ophelia Duncan.
