Ellen Blurton

Mrs. Ellen Onida Cunningham Blurton, age 86, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Northbrooke Heath Care and Rehab in Jackson, Tennessee. Funeral service for Mrs. Blurton will be held on Monday, December 8, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the New Bethlehem Baptist Church in Dyer, Tennessee. Colin Roberts, Bro. James Roberts and Bro. John Coleman will officiate services. Burial will be in the New Bethlehem Church Cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Blurton will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2014, from 4 - 6 p.m. in the Chapel of Karnes and Son Funeral Home in Dyer, Tennessee. Mrs. Blurton was born on August 17, 1928 in Gibson County, Tennessee, to the late J.B. and Bessie Jones Cunningham, Mrs. Blurton was preceded in death by her husband, Lynie Merlon "Jack" Blurton and one son, Keith Lynn Blurton, and her step mother Mae Cunningham. Mrs. Blurton was a retired employee of the Kellwood Company, and a member of the New Bethlehem Baptist Church. Mrs. Blurton is survived by two daughters, Karen Roberts and husband Danny of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Elwyn Gibson of Jackson, Tennessee, five grandchildren, and six great- grandchildren.
