Edna Chalker

Mrs. Edna Ruth Jewell Chalker, age 96, of Rutherford, Tennessee, passed away from this life on February 2, 2015, at the Dyer Nursing Home. Funeral services for Mrs. Chalker will be conducted on Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at 12 noon in the chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home of Dyer with Bro. Johnny Watson officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford Cemetery of Rutherford, Tennessee. Mrs. Edna Chalker was born June 7, 1918, in Rutherford, Tennessee; the daughter of the late James Tharlon and Geneva Jackson Johnstone Jewell. Mrs. Chalker retired as an LPN at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. She was a member at the Dyer Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Chalker is survived by siblings, Nancy Whitley and James Jewell. She was preceded in death by her parents; her spouse, James Allen Chalker; and sister, Mary Lee Canada.
